Prior to moving to Istanbul in 2002, Şanal worked in various architectural offices and projects of creative offices in Los Angeles, where she worked on calculations aimed at integrating physical environments with smart digital environments and projects investigating their potential for the future.
A regular relationship between people and environmental design, both in academic and professional pursuits, is shown by Alexis Sanal, an architectural design studio at the University of Queensland in 2007, who is currently conducting research on digital cities at MIT.
Okay Karadayılar was born in 1983. He graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University Department of Visual Communication Design. In 2009, he completed the Visual Arts Print and Book Arts Housing, Artist Program in New York. Since 2000, he has been working as a freelance designer, using information systems, operating in different environments.
His works, the monthly cinema magazine with arts, won the “best catalog” prize of Turkish Graphic Designers Association with Altyazı. Karadayılar also runs the Michael Bishop exhibition catalog directing.
Along with Universe Uzer and Bilge Kalfa, he established an independent platform to discuss the public space in 2007, as well. He has participated in the Culture 2010 Istanbul European Capital of Culture project with the possible workshops and publications. In addition, in 2010, the Architecture Prize was awarded by the Chamber of Architects of Turkey.
